About Shirakawa-go Village Tours

This site is an independent guide to Shirakawa-go tours and a comparison of the tours you can book: guided day tours from Kanazawa, tours that add Takayama or the Gokayama villages, departures from Takayama, Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka, a one-way bus with a stop in the village and a private car. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours. The full line-up sits in the Shirakawa-go tours catalog.

Why It Exists

Tour listings print a price, but not always what it covers. One tour includes a farmhouse entry or the observatory shuttle, another leaves every entry out, and some add lunch while most do not. The time you actually get in the village also differs from about 1.5 hours to 3 hours.

So every tour here is shown with what its price covers, where it starts and how long it stays in Shirakawa-go.

Where the Figures Come From

Tour prices, ratings, review counts, itineraries and inclusions come from the listing on the platform that sells each tour. Entry fees, opening hours, bus times, Light-Up dates and village rules come from the official bodies: the Shirakawa-go Tourist Association, the Shirakawa village office, Nohi Bus and Hokutetsu.

When two sources disagree, the page gives the official one or leaves the figure out.

What You Will Not Find

There is no invented guide or local expert behind these pages, and no claim that anyone from the site joined a tour. Reviews shown are short excerpts from four and five star platform reviews. Fees are not printed where no official source gives a current figure.

How the Site Is Paid For

The booking buttons are affiliate links to GetYourGuide and Viator. If you book through one, the platform pays a commission and your price does not change. No operator pays for a place, a badge or the pick.

The details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
